Inside Charlotte and Jordan Miller-Owen’s Elegant Tuscan Wedding at Villa La Selva
Words from The Bridal Journey
In the golden pocket of late summer Tuscany, where cypress trees rise like sentinels over rolling hills, Charlotte and Jordan Miller Owen gathered their worlds for a celebration that felt less like a wedding and more like a three day love story. It was a setting where time seemed to slow, silk draping in the breeze, candlelight flickering against vintage silver, and a soundtrack of strings drifting over terracotta paths. The kind of atmosphere that lingers long after the final glass is raised.
Charlotte and Jordan’s story began in Sydney during a casual Bondi night out that quickly shifted into something life changing. A confident question from Jordan asking if she had a partner, a shared Adelaide connection, and the discovery of a mutual best friend formed the beginning of a relationship that moved with striking clarity. Four months later they moved in together. One year after that, Jordan proposed at Darling Point following a morning walk that turned into a surprise moment Charlotte still describes as a dream. Returning home to find both families waiting created a memory she carries with her in every chapter that has followed.
Tuscany became their chosen place for a celebration that felt intentional and atmospheric. After reaching out to sixty venues, the warm reply from the family run Villa La Selva stood apart. It offered on site accommodation, multiple event spaces, and a landscape that felt purely and unmistakably Italian. With Studio Miia leading planning and design, the couple shaped a celebration that fused Australian ease, Tuscan romance and the subtle refinement of New York, the city Jordan once called home and the city Charlotte holds close to her heart.
Fashion formed a narrative element across the entire three day experience. Charlotte opened the festivities in a pleated lace Maria Lucia Hohan dress with a pearl Cult Gaia wristlet and heirloom earrings. The morning of the wedding began in an effortless white Rat and Boa dress worn with golden gooses before slipping into Selezza London flower bloomers for light hearted moments with her bridal party. Her wedding gown, a semi custom Danielle Frankel Leighton, became the centrepiece of her fashion story. Discovered in New York with her bridesmaids and mother, the gown featured a peaked drop waist, sculptural crinoline, a bubble hem and lace details that felt modern yet timeless. Her accessories carried deep sentiment, from an Olivia Bond pendant gifted by her bridesmaids to a white gold tennis necklace from Jordan, vintage earrings sourced by her mother, gold chain bracelets from both grandmothers and blue Manolo Blahnik Hangisis for her something blue.
Jordan wore custom P Johnson looks tailored by Porter Dowd, reflecting a refined Australian style with a European sensibility. The bridesmaids began the day in lemon striped Aston Studio sets before changing into custom satin Aston Studio gowns designed by Charlotte with her mother. The groomsmen wore velvet slippers and vintage Dior and Oscar De La Renta brooches in place of traditional boutonnieres. Hair and makeup by Jess Marsden and Alicia Ngov remained polished and understated, aligning perfectly with the overall aesthetic.
The ceremony took place on a vast lawn facing the Tuscan hills. Charlotte and her planners chose sculptural arrangements of pine grass, tulips and hydrangeas, allowing the dramatic horizon to remain the focal point. Jordan’s sister Kimberley officiated with a heartfelt account of their love story. Charlotte walked down the aisle with her father to Build A Home performed on harp and violin, a moment she remembers as deeply calming and filled with joy. The recessional, Bittersweet Symphony, carried them back up the aisle as guests cheered beneath the warm Tuscan glow.
The reception unfolded as a progressive journey through five distinct spaces. Aperitivo on the terrace welcomed guests with spritzes, Italian beers, hand cut prosciutto and acoustic music. Dinner flowed down the driveway where round tables formed a serpentine line draped in silk and lit by silver candelabras. A millefoglie cake ceremony took place beside the marble fountain, followed by an after party in the wine cellar styled to resemble a New York speakeasy with velvet draping and disco balls. The menu offered pasta, risotto and steak paired with Villa La Selva wines, while an open bar and porchetta sandwiches kept energy high throughout the night.
Entertainment played a central role with Top Shelf Live guiding guests from space to space using a boom box that created spontaneous dance moments. One song became particularly iconic, No Broke Boys by Disco Lines, which later sent their wedding viral online. After the cake cutting, Charlotte changed into a Chloé jacquard slip with platform heels and danced with guests until three in the morning.
Personalisation shaped the heartbeat of the celebration. Every detail felt considered from embroidered velvet ribbons to custom envelopes handed to guests by waiters to a personalised guest yearbook filled with photos and stories. Charlotte’s bouquet contained peonies that mirrored the bouquets held by generations of women in her family. During the reception she honoured mothers present and those no longer with them, dedicating her bouquet to her mum in a moment that moved the entire room. The couple also invited guests to embrace a social media free celebration until festivities had concluded which allowed everyone to remain fully present.
Charlotte reflects on the day as a convergence of worlds that blended with ease and warmth. Seeing their families and friends gathered without worry or distraction felt like a privilege. Tuscany became not only a backdrop but a meaningful character in their story, holding their memories in a way they will revisit for years to come.
